Travelling in Easter from Alicante

If you are one of those who take advantage of every holiday to get away and get to know new cities, surely you are celebrating because this Easter you will be able to travel. If you are looking for destinations where you can enjoy the Easter holidays, you have arrived at the right place.

And as you are a regular reader of our blog and you should know as usual, today we bring you a selection of last minute Easter trips. Of course, you should know that at such short notice and when dealing with such dates, prices are not as irresistible as other occasions. Even so, surely something could adapt to your budget.

1. Newcastle upon Tyne
The first option we bring you is Newcastle, a perfect destination for those who want to avoid touristy places. Think of the benefits: in Newcastle you will not find endless queues, inexpensive hotel prices and you can take pictures without people around.

The flights that we have selected are for April 20 at 8:30 the one way, and the return flight departs at 7:25 pm on April 22. In this way you can enjoy almost three whole days of the Millennium Bridge, the iconic statue of the Angel of the North or the living Beamish outdoor museum. Its price is 98 euros with Ryanair. If you have any doubts about luggage restrictions, you can consult the article we wrote about this airline by clicking here.

2. Barcelona
Barcelona is our second proposal. We suggest you visit this region of Spain/Cataluña because sometimes we insist on visiting other countries, without admiring what we have on our doorstep. We have selected a one-way flight for Friday, April 19 at 8:00 p.m. and a return flight for Monday, June 22 at 6:50 p.m. In total they cost 83 euros and both are operated by the airline Vueling.

On the other hand, if you prefer to pay a little more and not get up early for the return flight, you also have the option of leaving at 8:55. The tickets would come to a total of 93 euros.

3. Växjö
From April 18 to 22 you can escape to Växjö, a city located in southern Sweden. It a small place, so here is similar as to what we said about Newcastle: it is the perfect option if you are looking to discover little known places and with few tourists.

In Växjö you can visit its center, its cathedral, small lakes for pleasant walks and the ruins of the Kronoberg castle. In the surroundings, large lakes such as Helgasjön and Bergundasjön are used for leisure activities.

The outbound flight would leave on the 18th at 15:50 and the return on the 22nd at 10:45. The price per person is 124 euros with Ryanair.

4. Budapest
How about traveling to Budapest? Get to know the Buda Castle, cross the Chain Bridge, visit the Parliament, take a photo in the Fishermen’s Bastion with the city in the background, bathe in Széchenyi, ride a bike along the Isla Margarita or dine in the ruin bars.

For two days (enough to visit the most important parts of the city) you can do all this with some flights we have selected in which you would leave Alicante on April 19 at 23:10 and return on 22 at 19:20. The flight is operated by Wizzair and has a cost of 170 euros.

5. Algiers
In this last option we suggest you change the continent during the Easter holidays traveling to Algiers, the capital of Algeria. This city is known for the whitewashed buildings of the citadel, its medina with winding and steep streets, the Ottoman palaces and its citadel in ruins. But also by the Ketchaoua mosque, from the seventeenth century, and the Catholic Basilica of Our Lady of Africa, which sits on top of a cliff.

For 121 euros per person you can get to know this African city. We suggest you do so by flying out with Iberia on the 18th at 21:15 (making a stop in Madrid) and returning to Alicante on the 22nd at 7:35 with Vueling.
